The numbers and value of buildings is based on the 2005 County Tax Assessor’s information and was an estimate of the 2005 market value of private improvements and were created only to provide estimates of property at risk in hazard areas.
For documentation and analysis of building loss exposures in hazard areas by county, see Appendix F of Taming Natural Disasters, the multi-jurisidictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for the San Francisco Bay Area. This Appendix also provides documentation on the loss exposure estimation process. This data was used in the 2005 and 2010 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.
